For as long as you are the only person who has found a spot, it is yours and nobody else can open it. Plenty of people use Locatrove exactly that way and never do anything else.
the one rule worth knowing
A spot becomes a shared entry once 3 different people log within 75m of it. Every log counts toward that number, whatever privacy it was written at. At that point the notes are pooled so everyone can use them. Names are only ever shown for people who chose to be credited.
When that happens the spot becomes a shared entry and what people wrote about it is pooled, which is the whole point: a curated collective of locations and what is known about them. Your name is only ever shown if you asked for it to be, and anything you keep in the private note stays yours under every condition.
